CT Golf Directory FAQ
Q: WHAT IS THE CT GOLF DIRECTORY?
A: CTGolfer Online began in 1995 as the first Web site for golf news and information focusing solely on the state of Connecticut. We've always provided the most extensive directory for golf information, but now we've developed a new searchable database that allows golfers to find places to play and practice, buy equipment, improve their game, repair their clubs and more. In addition, we've added mapping so you can see precise locations and custom directions from every course.
Q: HOW DOES IT WORK?
A: A series of drop down menus allows you to choose what you'd like to find. Categories include Public Courses, Private Courses, Driving Ranges, Golf Shops, Instructors and Specialized Services. For courses, you can specify 9 holes or 18 holes or more. Or you can request a list of Executive or Par-3 courses. And you can narrow your search to any of Connecticut's eight counties or within a specified radius of your zip code.
Q: WHAT ARE FEATURED COURSES AND FACILITIES?
A: Quite simply, these are golf courses and facilities that advertise with us. As you probably realize, it takes money to publish all this information, and to keep it a free service we have to find ways to generate revenue. Advertising is how we do that.
Q: WHY DON'T YOU HAVE WEB SITES LISTED FOR ALL COURSES?
A: See above. A Web site listing is included in our advertising packages. CTGolfer Online offers a one-stop place on the Web to find everything golf in CT, so courses can easily direct players to their Web site by having their URL listed with us.
Q: CAN I STILL LEAVE COMMENTS ABOUT A COURSE?
A: Absolutely. Course comments have been a mainstay of our service for nearly 15 years. We still will require full name, city/town and valid email address for all comments posted, and you can still leave critical remarks as long as they follow our posting policy: They must be constructive comments and provide specific examples. Some people don't like this policy, but if you can't stand behind your opinions, they lose credibility and clout.
Q: WILL THIS WORK ON MY MOBILE PHONE?
A: Any mobile phone with a Web browser can use the new CT Golf Directory. And for iPhone users, some exciting news: This spring we will be launching an iPhone App for download that will greatly enhance the mobile search experience as well as other innovative features down the road.
Q: IS THERE A FEE TO USE THE CT GOLF DIRECTORY?
A: No, the service is free. As explained earlier, we rely on the support of golf businesses to publish all this information free of charge. If your course is not a supporter, be sure to ask them why not.
